Dancing at Lughnasa
By Brian Friel
Presented by the Resident Ensemble Players,
Thompson Theatre, Roselle Center for the Arts
Set in a small Irish town in Donegal, Friel's Tony Award-winning bittersweet memory play tells the tale of family resilience and simple joy. Weaving a rich tapestry of dreams, desires, and regrets, the narrator Michael travels back in time to the summer of 1936, when he lived with his unwed mother and her four sisters and their wireless radio, struggling to make ends meet, but celebrating life nonetheless.
